An old Washington law stated that ‘A dog must be carried near the cowcatcher to scare livestock from the tracks.’ Only one railroad ever followed this what was the railroad?
Columbia & Walla Walla
You bet I’ll keep this up.[:)]
I’ll say “Columbia & Walla Walla,” because the “Walla Walla” sounds as odd as the law.[:D]
I’m with DSF.
I doubt that a larger railroad would abide by this law, and I always laughed at Walla-walla…
James, this is a good use of bandwidth, poll-wise. Keep up the good work.
My answer is the C&WW.
I am guessing the Northern Pacific, just because it was one of the first and probably the reason for the law. I am certain no one continued the practice for very long.
This sounds like a law pushed through the state legislature in an attempt to aggravate their rivals more than any other purpose.
