In Arkansas a man can legally beat his wife, but not more than once a month
In Alaska moose may not be viewed from an airplane
In Alaska it is considered an offense to push a live moose out of a moving airplane and kangaroos are not allowed in barber shops at any time.
In Kansas rabbits may not be shot from motorboats and the state game rule prohibits the use of mules to hunt ducks (the law is silent on whether or not one can use ducks to hunt mules).
In Massachussetts:
It is illegal to give beer to hospital patients.
Taxi drivers are prohibited from making love in the front seat of their taxi during their shifts.

All men driving motorcycles must wear shirts (Andre’s note: does this mean women who ride motorcycles don’t?)
It is contrary to Pennsylvania law to discharge a gun, cannon, revolver or other explosiv
they are true are they?
Dang Andre, I guess I could have been arrested in California a few years ago, had a couple of strangers call me ugly in a public place!

Here’s some from ILL.
In Champaign One may not pee in his neighbor’s mouth.
In Chicago Law forbids eating in a place that is on fire.
It is forbidden to fish while sitting on a giraffe’s neck.
In Cicero Humming on public streets is prohibited on Sundays.
I like this one, In Moline Ice skating at the Riverside pond during the months of June and August is prohibited.
It is illegal and punishable by a $250 fine for exploding a nuclear device within the city limits of Burbank, California.
Arizona law has changed a little – you are now allowed to carry a concealed weapon if you have a state permit.
For the trivia question, my guess would be that salt on railroad tracks might attract animals and cause derailments, but which state would outlaw such a practice I have no idea.
I have no idea! But I chose Idaho because I like to put salt on my potatoes.

Can not wait for the ANSWER to this one!!

I’ll guess Alabama, just because it seems to be more of a deep south type thing. Lotus089, could you please repeat the question in the first post?
Those are not as funny as one would think. Remember in Kansas all waterways are public reguardless of whos property they go through. So people were using boats and pack animals to enter otherwise posted private property in order to hunt. I think there would be several more very similar laws if one dug deep enough.
Those aren’t silly, just really old. The calvary tried to introduce camels in Arizona in the 1860s.
Not silly or funny at all. That is the same in Colorado. This law allows fireworks businesses to exist and thrive eventhough fireworks are illegal for people to own/shoot off.
That is really not funny and probably the same in every state in the union.
I’m guessing Alabama , as an illegal hunting technuque.

I said New York. This is a tough one!
Perhaps, but they really did have camels in Arizona. The army brought them thinking they would be good in the great American desert. However, not only were the soldiers scared of them, so were the horses; and no one could ride them without getting sea sick. Some escaped and were seen roaming the country side and were almost always were hunted down by the locals.
Being in law enforcewment and from PA I can say that it is illegal to sell fireworks to a PA. resident, but; if you have ID from out of state buy all you want.
I think in Michigan it’s illegal to chain an alligator to a fire hydrant. Actual ordinance.
I definately realize that the military imported camels to Arizona (along with Texas and Nevada), but there is no current law that prohibits the hunting of camels in the State of Arizona. And appearantly the use of Camels was an overall success, but their use was negated by the Civil War.
In West Virginia you can’t operate a jet ski until you are 15! What a bunch of bullshirt!

Andre, LOL that’s hilarious. There ARE laws like that.
A short aside on camels in Arizona:
In 1853 or thereabouts a Secretary of War by the name of Jefferson Davis (remember him) imported dromedary camels into the southwest to facilitate army transport. The experiment was not successful because the southwestern desert is rocky and not sandy like the Sahara and Arabian. By 1861 the army was trying to figure out what to do with a couple of hundred tempermental camels and had concentrated them all at Ft Tejon in California. When the garrison there was ordered east following the attack on Ft Sumter these camels were released into the wild where they made a nuisance out of themselves for the next forty years.
These camels are infinitely wrapped up in the legend and mythology of the region - particularly in Arizona where the famous legend of the “Red Death” is sited. The last verifiable incident of a camel sighting in Arizona is prior to 1910 (1903/1908 I believe) but people were still encountering camels as late as the 1940s. Most of these later sight-ings were located in the lower reaches of Old Snake Eyes bottles.
