How often do you train watch?
Does it depend on the season of the year?
I do it quite a bit.[8D]

On average I get trackside about twice to three times a month. As the weather warms up and my travel schedule permits, as much as four to five times a month. Actually, the more often the better. I seem to get out much more in the spring, early summer, late summer and fall seasons.
Every weekend at least.
Catch as catch can. If I’m near the tracks, I’m looking. I rarely go out specifically to watch trains - not that many in my area, and you can’t count on when they’ll be there.
I watch trains whenever possible, which isn’t often. It doesn’t matter what the season is, just so long as it is not too hot or too cold.

Every weekend and sometimes on weekdays.[:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:p]
Unfortuneatle i live near no tracks, so its very rare [:(]
i’m kinda like tree… rarely go out specifically to see trains, but end up seeing some interesting stuff anyway
Matt and I go out when we can. Give mamma a break.

I usually plan my driving such that I will pass by railway operations, whether it be a yard or just a right-of-way.
If I go past and something is happening then I stay and watch, if not I just continue to my destination.
I’ve had to cut back on the joy-rides where I just go only to check out the trains, 'cuz gas has been too expensive lately.
I can honestly say that Ed ,csxengineer and myself watch trains everyday. seems we cant get away from them.
Since I ride the train twice a day as part of my daily commute, I’m always train watching on the way to and from work. Since I live near Clearing Yard, I will usually take a small detour when I’m running errands that take me near the yard.
I usually try to travel around Kansas City along roads and highways that pass near the tracks and/or the yards. If time permits and I see any activity I’ll stop and watch. It’s unusual if I don’t watch some train activity almost every day.
Seems to me like they won’t leave me alone also…me and the boy go out quite often also, sometimes long distance. [:D][:)][8D][:p][;)][}:)][^][8)]
Being retired and living within a mile of the CN line and the VIA station, I usually try to get there every day for a couple of hours. I don’t take too many special trips but I and a whole lot of other rail fans will be in Smith Falls Ontario on the 28th of May to see the EMPRESS when she stops there overnight.
It seems like I tend to make it out about two or three times a month, but that usually involves driving down to Denver to sit by the UP yard which ends up being at least a half day commitment. And with gas prices passing $2 here in Colorado, it will probably be less than that.
