trainhaus on Ebay

Hi,
I was wondering if any of you have purchased anything from trainhaus on ebay. if so what was your experience???[:)]

Nevermind

Avoid them.

I have never bought anything from them, but we did go to the town in Missouri in which they are located. We got there at 3 PM on a Saturday and they were closed. When we got back home I e-mailed them to find out their hours because we plan on going back sometime soon. This has been 3 months now and no response. Should I read something into that?!

Chuck

they have good feedback, but that is all I know. Please give a reason for saying “avoid them”

cf-7,
did you got to the hermann, or the warrenton store?
hermann location, is maily mail order store, not open on weekends usally.
Main store in Warrenton, huge, NTRAK layout, open every day.
Not often do you find a trains only shop anymore.
CurtMc,
I would also like to hear the reason behind “avoid them” ???

I have purchased many items from them through ebay and have always had great service, fast shipping and prompt communication from them. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase from them again.

[#ditto] ??? That is one place I always put on my list to visit when I go to St. Louis. I’ve purchased many things from them. I always purposely seek out their booths at the train shows (formerly GATS, etc.). I’ve never had a problem.

I purchased an Intermountain F7A from the Hermann store via e-bay.
Product was as advertised, delivery was timely. Basically I had no problems
at all. I agree with Don Z completely.

i have purchased several items thru e-bay as well as items at trainshows in kc,mo.fast emails and items are always packaged well.i have no fear ordering from them.terry…

I bought a P2k SD50 and a newer Spectrum SD45 from them and they had good service. Both at seperate times. They had a flat rate shipping for each locomotive I bought which was cheaper in price than what the USPS label says. So a $1-2 shipping discount.

I believe I met Trainhaus when they came to Little Rock on the last GATS show and displayed the QSI Life Like 2-8-8-2 Nice people with a good selection of well kept merchandise. Memory isnt what it used to be but that is what I think I remember.

I dont have any issues with them.

Anyone from Canad buy from them? I ask because I was wondering what the duty is. Thanks

I had no problems.

We make it a point to stop by whenever we go to St. Louis and they’ve always been very nice people. AND I’ve gotten some pretty good deals from them.

I buy alot from the states, and duty is calculated on value of product.
Generally there is no duty if items are shipped through US postal service.

I won one eBay auction from them and it was fine. No problem.

Great people with whom to deal. Can’t imagine nicer dealers than Bob and Mary, and this doesn’t even begin to address the incredible prices you can find on some items. “CurtMc” must have them confused with someone else.

There are no customs duties for model stuff imported into Canada. Just the 15% GST (or whatever the rate is for your province), plus Canada Posts’ $5.00 collection fee.

Before you order anything from the US, make sure they will ship it to you only by US Mail. Anything else - UPS, FedEx, etc., will charge an exhorbitant “tax collecting fee” to collect the duty themselves, often in the US$25-35.00 range. This usually make a bargain costing too much!

I guess it is time once again to post the “CurtMc” posting here is a troll imposter. The real Curt Mc uses a space between first and last name
