Trainroom (Basement) Finishing Time

I just got the building permit to start finishing my basement today and I should be getting started this weekend. I’m soooo geeked![:D][:D]

Toot Toot - the signal to start.

Harness that energy. We are just a few coats of paint on the trim, and som carpet installation, away from ours being done. I couldn’t wait any longer and began to revamp my trackplan a couple of days ago. I was truly a lost soul while my layout was covered.

I hope your project goes as well as ours did.

Take care,

Hi Eric;

I am in a similar situation, have most of the framing done, most of the electrical, and hope to have sheet rock going in a month or two. Slow going due to my long commute and business trips. I am in China now.

Hipp Hipp Hooray for you. Hope everything goes smoothly!

Just curious: what are you doing in your basement finishing that you need a building permit for?

Tom

In some jurisdictions you can’t paint your interior walls without a permit. Here on the northern outskirts of Sin City I was advised (by the head building inspector) that I would need a permit if i de-skinned the drywall and batt-insulated my garage, but blowing insulation behind the drywall doesn’t require a permit. Guessing which way I went is a no-brainer!
