Trains and pets

Any of you guys have pets that like your trains?

Alex, there’ve been threads in the past about our train-lovin’ and hatin’ cats and dogs. I have three cats who love to chew up trees, sit on tracks and watch the goings-on. I can just strangulate them.

ALEX,

My dog JANE comes down to check out the trains alot, usually kicks me off the couch and if I put down my beer ends up drinking it. Here she is waiting for the Easter Bunny a few years back( my wifes idea with the ears).

My pet rocks do not pay any attention to my trains.

Hello All! Laz- Are you going to put those Bunny Ears to good use when the Chief invades Pennsylvania?[;)][:P][:o)] It’ll be another “Kodak Moment”[;)][;)] Alex- Our Dogs usually look at the Train & leave it alone & won’t bother it at all. Now that’s what I call a Good Dog!!![;)] Take Care.

Spanky is always ready to help run trains ! [^]

Our cat enjoys train time. In fact he pesters me to go down to the basement and run the trains.

Which brings the question of…

What’s the difference between a rock and a pet rock?

Give up?

A pet rock is one that has been captured.

HA HA HA!!!

Wife has 2 cats, both love the trains. Tigger (grey female) likes to wander around town and terrorize the city folk… I found the station ticket taker inside the tunnel after Christmas. Panther (21 lb black cat) likes to sit and watch the trains go by… this past Christmas he got a bit too curious and tried to bat at the Christmas Berk as it passed… you should have seen the look the engine got as he was walking away!

I have a great shot of the two of them watching the trains… I’ll post on Sunday for Photo Fun!

When I turn on my trains I have three cats that come running to watch them run around the layout. When the trains aren’t running I have one cat that likes to lay on my train table. The table is covered with outdoor carpet, so besides having to clean the track I need to vacum the carpet too.

Not a pet, but a mouse had taken up residence in my town, trains are in an out building. After having an engine chase him out of the tunnel I put out some mouse bait, haven’t seen him/her since.[:-,]

When I was a kid, we set the train up around the tree. The dog saw it running at thought it be cool to chase and bark at it like a car. That got old for him, then just sniffin around the track, got a good buzzz on the nose from the center rail. Didn’t really like trains after that.

My dog did something like that on a floor layout but he licked the third rail!

When I was around 12 I had a parrot named Peach, Peach would ride on the flat car of my lionels, I always wished I had taken a photo.

I would of loved to see that[:)]

Alex- I bet your dog had a Don King hairdo after licking the third rail on your layout![;)][:O][:o)] Your pooch learned a lesson that could never be taught from a textbook…The hardway.[;)][:)] Take Care.

Alex We had a cat when I was little when I got my first train set (Marx Big Rail). She was fascinated by it. Sometimes she would go over by the box (I didn’t have a layout) and paw at it and then look at me as if to ask “Aren’t you going to play with it???” Later we got a dog and he just liked to lay down by the tracks and watch it go round and round.
