Hey everybody,
Today was an awesome day here in the ‘Peg. Well after two years of garden construction we put down our first loop of track. Just after noon today the first train made the inaugural run! Used my CP FA1 to pull four Pennsy. pass cars I just got from St. Aubins the other day. The pass. cars will be re-lettered for the L D & C Mountainview RR this winter. Have an 0-4-0 in pieces being painted to match. Hope it can pull them all! After going through pretty much everything we had the kids brought out their Playmobil train and gave it a go too. I have to admit with all the work we put into our "scale " units, that pretty little train looked good running around the line. Nice with the fall colours. Had to go to work for a couple of hours this eve and when I got home it was dark out…sooooo…brought the pass. train out for another go. Looked great with the interior lights on. Gotta’ get some passengers next. That sure made my day alright! Go Large Scale. Later eh…Brian. [:D] [tup] [tup] [8D]

GOOD TO HEAR YOUR UP AND RUNNING, I WAS OUT RUNNING MY TRAINS FOR ABOUT 3 HRS TODAY, WE HAD NICE WEATHER., HOPE EVERY THING WORKS FOR YOU. BEN [tup] [2c] [:)]
Great to hear Brian. Lots more fun around the bend! [:p]
Two Years! You must have a lot of patience Brian. My GR, the BVRR took about 2 months to construct and I thought that was forever, but I have a feeling that yours is a little bigger. Of course, I’m sure that the garden looks just great. Hope you can post pictures for all of us to enjoy.
Last week I received about 5 buckets of dirt for the branch line. Tamped it all down on Saturday and starting moving rocks (with “character”) into place. Phew! Garden railroading is hard work… and fun! [:D]

Hey everyone,
Thanks for all the encouragement. Gonna’ send pics out to everyone who’s email address I have later on this week. Yes Marty…it was a BIG grin alright! The garden construction took a couple of years due to “US” not having a clue what the plants would end up looking like. Have already decided for next season on a lot less flowering plants and a lot more greenery. I really like the two Dwarf Alberta Spruce we have and want a lot more of that. I was hesitant to lay track with all the tramping around we were doing. Plantings were changed / re-arranged and so on. Part of the plan is when we move out to the country a few years from now. If the new owners don’t want the RR, with it removed they will have a very nice rock garden. Now to work on getting our club up and running! Later eh…Brian.
Great going Brian, I knew you could do it and I’ll bet you did a fine job. Susie and I plan to come up there to see you guys next summer and now we can play trains too.
Good luck with your new club…don’t forget, we want to be charter members.
Your friend, Larry. …OLD DAD

Hey everyone,
I just fired off a whole bunch more to those of you I missed. Having a bit of trouble with the size of file I sent. If you wish you can check with someone else here and see if they can forward them to you. I sent this batch to Ian, Troy, Benny, Kim, and Phil. Thanks for all the feedback. Hope to get at ballasting that track in ASAP. Have some nice crushed granite ready to do the job. Later eh…Brian.
Brian
Looks like you had a head of steam going in several photos there[:)]
Brian,
The layout looks great and I realy like the way you finished off around the edge of the area with lighting etc.
OLD DAD
Hey Guys,
Yeah William, steam was stealing the show that day. The pass. train will also be pulled with steam come spring. If my Aristo 0-4-0 struggles too much with the train I’ll be shopping for a bigger loco. We’ll see how it goes. Larry: The trim was one of those “Hey this might look good” ideas. I was’nt sure if I really wanted the lights there considering they might take away from the trains but at night I think they are great…now that they work! I can hardly wait until Spring to extend the line to reach the house. Get this…even my wife commented “A longer run for the trains would be nice”. Ummmm sure…I’ll get right on it! Having fun here guys and gals. Hope you all are too! Later eh…Brian.
