I know we’ve done threads about trains appearing in movies, TV and books. But I don;t think we’ve ever done a thread about trains appearing in music videos. The only one I can can up with is the video for “Holding back the Years” by Simply Red. The end of the video shows a British steam train. Can you guys think of some more?
Dwight Yoakam - “A Thousand Miles From Nowhere” Which was filmed on the Copper Basin Railway I think.
R.E.M - “Driver 8” Features some Chessie System action, I heard it was shot in Clifton Forge but am not positive.
Those are two songs that come to mind that show a lot a train action in the music video.
The Tractors - “Baby Likes to Rock It” Takes place on a “train”. Although I don’t think any realy trains or rolling stock is shown there is a conductor with his step taking tickets.
Foo Fighters- “DOA” Shows three UP locomotives at the start and then parts of the remaining video take place on a “train”.
Sure we did, earlier this year (March), with the thread title “Trains In Music Videos”.
That thread, I was the guy who posted REM’s Driver 8…
May only be a couple tank cars, but I’m always watching for them.
