Trains - June 2005.

Well I haven’t had a chance to read it cover to cover yet, but it certainly looks interesting. From the editorial by Jim Wrinn titled “Amtrak: Take this railfoad and run” it to the feature article on “Montana muscle.”

And it was certainly great getting a couple of news items from my region, “Union Pacific goes down and out (of the way) in Reno,” and “Virginia & Truckee rises again in Nevada.”

Also, under the Locomotive section the “Texas Baldwins get company.” The photo shows former Baldwin Demo unit Texas Southeastern No. 301. Which demo was this? Baldwin 750 or 751?

Anyway thanks.

A side note, the Reno, NV photo pictured with the news item “Union Pacific goes down and out (of the way) in Reno,” shows Union Pacific’s Reno Local on the Reno Branch, the mainline shoo-fly is south of the dig and would be to the left in the photo.

Jim

This is one of the best editions of TRAINS in quite some time, I truly enjoyed it very much.

Yes I thought of you when I saw the Reno dig! [:o)][:D][:p]
