Too bad it’s been pushed back to 2016 now.
The new t1 project is who should get the cash
At least TRAINS is participating with these projects… The historic locomotives will be around for generations that havee never seen a ‘working’ steam engine… A couple more years, more or less; is nothing in the face of future generations being able to being able to enjoy these pieces of railroad history in operation.

I’ve been following this restoration online for the last few years and it’s so exciting to see Trains get involved in pushing it over the crest. 2926 will certainly be one of the most followed mainline locomotives in the world when it’s completed, and everyone at Trains Mag (esp Jim) should be proud to have been a part of it.
ps. can’t wait to see the special issue…
Hopefully when 2926 is running, they will run a double header with 3751.
It is scheduled to be under steam by the end of 2015. Shakedown and trial runs will commence in 2016 with the goal of participation with Grand Canyon railroad in late summer of that year.
