Trains Magazine release 'Colorado Railroads' mobile app

Trains Magazine now has an app for that! The new “Colorado Railroads” mobile app offers more than 260 railroad locations to explore, from preservation railways to mainline freight carriers to passenger trains. You’ll learn where to find more than 80 operating and display steam locomotives. It also includes commuter train stops, historic buildings, and trails that keep alive the memory of historic railroads. Available for both Android and Apple mobile operating systems.

Not sure who is in charge of this endeavor, but it could use a little tweaking. I’ve noticed some errors while perusing the app. The location of Santa Fe #2912, for instance, is nowhere near where the locomotive is at. In fact, if people go looking for it according to the map, they’ll be browsing around the Colorado Mental Health Institute. Probably not the greatest location to be driving around slowly with cameras at the ready… Maybe a link for correction suggestions could be useful?

They’ll blend right in with the people catching pokemon.

Scary but true!

I did chuckle with the timing of this release.

Suggestions, corrections, and bug reports should go to apps@trainsmag.com.
