I heard that FEC is getting 11 GE loaners later in March and that the SD70M-2s will leave the FEC Roster once the loaners arrive. I also heard that the Fortress Investment Gropu affiliate that purchased the MMA plans to start operations in mid-March. So it could be possible that the SD70M-2s could wind up there, since the new owners are not retaining any of the MMA locomotives. If not, then there is plenty of recent lease expired newer EMD locomotives to chose from…SD75Ms, SD75Is, SD60Ms and SD70MACs from BNSF, for example.
