Trains News Wire EXCLUSIVE: Florida steam special scuttled, shorter trips planned

If any of those folks that have already made reservations also made non-refundable travel and accommodation reservations then they are SOOL. This is one reason why I do not make advance reservations for any tourist train operation.

Florida Central Railroad should be more customer-centric and ensure this trip happens. After-all, the train is deadheading to Winter Garden with crew aboard. Why is it safe for a crew but not revenue passengers on this journey? I have crossed FCRR tracks for 25 years in Ocoee without incident and believe the railroad has demonstrated an exemplary safety record of which they should be proud of. I suspect that the relationship between them and their most visible customer could be much better.

Kern if it’s 10mph track then it’s possible it’s exepted track which is not allowed to haul passengers over per FRA.

I suspect the track might be “exempted track” which will not allow any revenue passenger trains to be operated over it per Federal Regulations. It would be OK to operate the equipment over such track with just a crew aboard but no paying passengers.
