Trains News Wire EXCLUSIVE: Fostoria railfan park opens for visiting fans
There used to be a great web cam with sound on one of the old terminals (freight?) in Fostoria. It was right in town where the two roads are all tangled together.
This excellent web cam suddenly disappeared about 2 years ago, with no explanation. I hope it was because this project is going to include an upgrade to the cam!
Anybody know if there’s a live, streaming web cam with sound in the works in conjunction with this observation park?
Any event, I send my congrats and a bit of my envy your way. =) Well done, folks! I can only hope to stir up similar motivation in my hometown one day… (original Erie road at the “half way” point ca 1851)
Try railstream.org for web cam. Comes with fee.
Nice looking facility. Can’t wait to see it in person. The Triangle is a special place for signaling fans like me and railfans in general, and this park makes it all the better. Thanks and congrats to all involved!
Anxious to visit. Thanks to all involved.
Congrats Fostoria! I always go to Bellevue to watch trains. I will now have another place to see when I go to Camp Perry every Aug. We don’t get the traffic in Vt that Ohio gets. Awesome!

I have visited Fostoria for the last 5 years!! It’s a great place to spent a couple of days, vacationing and watching trains. The only motel in town, the Best Western, is one of the best motels that I stayed, on all my road trips!! I even named my cat, in honor of the town!! Highly recommanded!!!
The folks who perserved for many years to get this park built deserve congratulations. It looks like a great facility and I am anxious to visit. However, I am concerned about the limits on operating hours. The last time I visited (September 2013) there were at least 8 railfans still watching trains at 9:30 pm and most of them seemed to be in no hurry to leave. I hope that the city will reconsider and keep the park open 24/7.
