Trains News Wire EXCLUSIVE: Mechanical inspection complete on ACL 4-6-2 No. 1504

Why did CSX give to the city? Why not move it back to where it first displayed in front of CSX headquarters where it would be seen everyday? It’s present location is unsuitable and out of daily public view.

Why not move ACL #1504 indoors at CSX headquarters building a la Southern #1401 at the Smithsonian? The engine would last longer and could serve as a center piece for corporate public and employee events.

If it’s just going to be cosmetically restored, why the mechanical inspection? Get ready for better things maybe?
I hope I hope I hope.

If it’s in such good shape then by all means get her running again. Like God intended.

Without a shed over this nice loco, a cosmetic restoration won’t last long. I also agree with others who think there’s a better location for her than where she sits today.

If she is in great condition as you say… Then why not upgrade to full operational status resto? I mean it would be the ONLY ACL Pacific to be in steam. It sounds like a good idea right?
