Gov. Cuomo needs to read “Weather for Dummies” to learn the difference between “Typhoon” and “Hurricane”. They are the same thing, but “Typhoon” is not used in the Atlantic. And hurricanes are nothing new in NY/ Long Island.
The MTA crews and contractors did great work on this project, which could have dragged on for awhile.
$250 million to repair the damage (although to be honest, this probably includes upgrades). I wonder what it would have cost to be prepared with waterproof doors (or something) in the first place so that the damage didn’t occur. Certainly not $250 million.
My wife used to ride that line to Queens from the Brooklyn Navy Yard area in the '70’s to Newtown Avenue. She was surprised to hear that!
