Really Cool!
What a great time of the year in Alaska’s interior. My wife likened the autumn colors on the ground around and among the spruces, bent, warped, wide height differences, growing, surviving in random patterns on the permafrost…the land looked like it was covered with flamboyant oriental carpets…

With the large windows they appear to be of European origin but these cars are designed to comply with U.S. buff strength requirements. They were running in 2003 when I previously visited the ARR.
Went to Alaska a few weeks back. One of the highlights of the trip for me was the Alaska railroad and the people who work for it.
A supervisor spent quite a while talking to me about all of the problems they have had with the DMU car. But it sure was a great car to ride!
I believe Colorado Railcar was 20 years ahead of its time. As trains grow in popularity, the forward-thinking, visionary engineers and builders will hail these designs as groundbreaking and innovative.
