Very happy to see the 1225 restored to steam after being down for about 4 years. It is a proud moment for the Steam Railroading Institute and all of their volunteers. All Aboard!!!

Some of my stepchildren, grandchildren, wife and myself will be on board for the 7 December 2013 trip of the North Pole Express.
We are all very excited that the 1225 will be the power for this trip.
I have done one of these trips before with older grandchildren in a Blizzard and it was an awesome trip.
To all involved who have rebuilt Pere Marquette #1225 and to all who put on these memory building trips my heartfelt thanks.

Greetings!
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Public Fire up of the 1225 scheduled for October 30th has been postponed. It will be rescheduled for the near future.
I am disappointed that the public fire up is delayed. I am driving up from Texas to see it and will have to call and see how much of a delay we are talking about.
Bless those MSU students that began restoration of 1225 in 1969. That group of youngsters …started it all…also thanks to C&O for donating it way back when.
