Thanks for the explanation. A photo of this was seen on another forum, but only speculation as to the cause of the problem was offered up.

I am glad the interim fix in place I hope the permanent goes in Tuesday the early date given.

I watched a tow boat do a “pitch and catch” once. He was too long to fit in the lock, so he tied off to the side of the barges. When leaving the lock, he simply shoved the barges from the side and let them go. He then backed up, pulled behind the free tow and caught up to them, tied them up and off they went. It was pretty cool to watch.
