This is a really nice looking little steam locomotive and it would be great to see steam in service again at Mid-Continent’s Snow Train in February. With luck in a couple of years C&NW 1385 will also be in steam and running at Mid Continent.
Early 2015? So there is a chance that this engine could steam on the Snow Train in 2015? I have never seen steam in the snow and cold temperatures, but I really want to!
How is work on C&NW 1385 coming along?
How about bringing in another engine for Snow Train if Saginaw Timber No. 2 isn’t ready?
I see a double header coming up when 1385 and the engine is complete.
Snow Train 2015 is iffy at best. Lots of work to do and cold weather will bring that to a halt. Our bridge is out of service since the 2008 flood so even if we had the money to lease another engine large enough, we couldn’t get it in. We had the Flagg Coal 75 a few summers ago but John Gramling can more easily transport his small locos, which would not work with the larger Snow Train consists.
Maybe Snow Train 2016 is more likely.
