Don’t get me wrong! I love active steam engines and try to support them when I am able to. However, if this is the first excursion for the 700 since 2005, I see a tough sell in raising the necessary hundreds of thousands to get it through the 15 year inspection/rebuild process. Some supporters might feel that their dollars would be better spent on a more active engine. I really hope I am wrong in this assessment. The 700 is a beautiful engine.
