Trains News Wire EXCLUSIVE: Talgo train sets depart Milwaukee for storage in Indiana

The loss of what must be the ugliest train “mug” is no compensation for the loss of: 1) jobs and more jobs, 2) almost a billion in econ. stimulus, and 3) much needed rail service. An astonishing convolution of facts. The end result on all fronts was nothing, nothing, and nothing. Plus litigation.

Sent em down Tenn We could use them

This shows just how small-mind passenger rail opponents are in General. They talk about jobs but choose to blind themselves with ideology.

Walker’s legacy: opportunity missed!

Minnesota’s plan for High Speed Rail from MSP to Chicago was thwarted by this myopic move by Walker. Meanwhile Wisconsin’s economy has lagged behind Minnesota’s. Is that a coincidence? I think not.

While France, Germany, Britain and all the other European countries have built and run thousands of new passenger rail cars in the last 5 years, the USA can’t even get 31 cars into service. Shame!

I hope they find a good home soon. An ideal route would be one with enough curves that the tilt feature can shave some time off of the schedule. How about St Louis-Kansas City or the Pennsylvanian?

They need to run someplace. It’s almost criminal to put them in storage.

Would love to see them operate in Michigan to supplement / replace Wolverine service!!!

This entire debacle just makes me sad. Are we actually trying to become a 3rd world nation?

Curious on the routing – though likely CP to CHI. Note that ATK engines are on the north end leaving the plant. Did they run around or push it all the way to Indiana?

The rest of the world isn’t resting. It’s adding trains not storing them. We need a new capital investment plan to drive down operating cost and increase volume and revenue. See how at railsolution.org and steelinterstate.org Robinson Foster Director, RAIL Solution

New cab car please…

Talgos are notoriously expensive to operate.

Send em down to west Texas. We could use AMTK in Lubbock and Amarillo.

Scott “I’ll Stop that Train Dead in it’s tracks” Walker must be SO proud! I hope Talgo will win a judgment against this jerk!

Yes, the KRM fiasco. Just think that back in the day, commuters had the choice of 3, yes 3, railroads between MILW and Racine/Kenosha. Pick where to get on and off between C&NW, C, NS&M(the North Shore line), and the T,M,ER&L(Speedrail). Yes, this country is #1 in so many ways, your pick.
