Trains News Wire EXCLUSIVE: Yard sideswipe incident damages CSX executive train

Just one more piece of the pyramid. No one got hurt - this time.

Attention management! These are not toy trains! These are the real McCoys! You must realize that they are not made of dye cast metal. These cause big damage! Think of MMA. By trying to save money, you may wind up filing for bankruptcy. Unless, that’s what you’ve been planning all along.

Oh well, You get what you pay for!

This incident would seem to be an excellent argument for NOT going totally remote control yet. I can’t help but wonder if an engineer ON BOARD the locomotive switcher would have been able to prevent this accident.

Hope that locomotive had derail insurance.

Bradley, one reason Amtrak sidelines lightly damaged locomotives is lawsuits. Their policy is to hold all wreck damaged equipment until the lawsuits have run their course.

I see the value of that to their litigation team, but I am not sure it equals the value of having the equipment back on the road.

WHOOPSIE!!!

I am a retired BNSF clerk from Northtown and NOT a fan of the RCO units. An engineer belongs in the cab. This was proved at the Midway Hub Center when switching was not done in an efficient manner. After a number of delays, an engineer was added. RCO have caused too many fatalities and damage over the years.

Good thing CSX has 2 other F40s!
