4501 has been resurrected today at 1 pm this afternoon! Just like Jesus was resurrected on Easter Day at 1 pm.
Good news, and no myth. 4501 really lives again! Well done folks!
I only got to see it under steam once. Back in 1980 at the Chatanooga Choo Choo hotel. That day it had a Southern F unit to assist it. When it left for Atlanta, I left and went to Dalton Georgia where me, a Southern Railway brakeman and another railfan who had a scanner, watched it go through there. By that time, night had fallen and you could see the cab light up inside when the fireman opened the firebox to shovel in coal.
