Trains News Wire FLASH: Severe weather strikes Midwest

I was driving north to Wisconsin but didn’t make it that far. my car kept sweeping sideways as I was driving. I took shelter in a Culvers, an stayed put till the Bears game was over.

I was watching that live when it happened !

I took cover in downtown Peoria as it hit a East Peoria. It passed rather quick. We continued on to our destination a few miles west of a Washington. It was the wildest and closest encounter to a tornado in my life.

Illinois Railway Museum has six broken poles, carrying both trolley wire and the signal system. In my opinion, they’re lucky that’s all the damage there is.

Re; the Il. Ry. Mus. damage:
If govt raised money from the public to restore the trolley and signal system,

Would it use a “pole” tax?

Horrors, devastation, tragedy…courage, brave and strong heartlanders!

Wow. A current picture that matches the story. Please keep up this good work.

A reported tornado touchdown outside of Wilmington Il. just east of the Chgo & Alton ex MP/ UP line.

Metra didn’t suspend service on the UP lines, Union Pacific did. Metra itself operates the Milwaukee North and West and North Central lines, between the UP lines and exposed to the same weather, but service on those lines wasn’t suspended. The decision came from Omaha, not 547 W. Jackson, and it isn’t the first time or likely the last.

Please keep the victims and their families in your prayers.
