Where? When? I NEED MORE! Sounds fun, will it be on again?
Matthew

I caught an episode of that show on Saturday. It’s called “Workin’ on the Railroad”. The episode showed the HO layout at the Chatanooga Choo Choo in Chatanooga, Tenn. There was also an introductory piece on DCC vs DC control. The show airs Saturday afternoons at 5:30 PM (West coast time).

Look at the DIY Network web site for more info:

I see I don’t get that channel…

Glad to be of help!

I would have posted more info at the time, but was busy watching the show! [:D]

Chianelli is a hoot! He’s been hosting a show on DIY for a while focusing primarily on R/C, but there was one episode on model railroading. This is the first time I’ve seen “Working on the Railroad”. It’s in the same time slot as the R/C show was. I believe it’s 8:30 pm EST, and reairs again later in the evening.

thanks for the heads up1 Now, I really hope I have DIY…hoping…hoping

Maybe I missed the boat, but what’s DIY?

Do It Yourself. It’s a TV channel carried on a lot of cable and probably satelite systems. DIY started a series on model railroading. I’ll see what it’s like for my first time tonight.

For those who don’t know DIY (Do It Yourself) it has a wide assortment of projects that cover almost everything from gardening to auto mechanics and model railroading. They have a series of model railroading programs which you can download that covers starting a layout, bench work, creating scenery, track laying, building models and painting.

Before you start any project you should check with DIY they might already have done it.

Argh! I don’t have DIY! Grrrrrrrrrrr

DIY is on Directv and Dish Network. It is not on most cable systems.

Do yourself a favor and get a satellite system with a Digital recorder (TiVo).

I have my TiVo set to automatically record programs such as:

  1. Tracks ahead
  2. Working on the railroad
  3. Tains and locomotives
  4. grand scale trains
    and others!

I have train shows ready to view all the time!

Cable is going the way of the 8-track tape due to bandwidth restrictions. So do yourself a favor and get a dish and set back and enjoy countless hours of train shows!

Couple of things:

What channel and when are the above shows on?

Also, cable is only hampered by their own ignorance. If they’d give up the analog bandwidth and switch to all digital like they’re supposed to by next year then cable will be the way to go. More HD and more features. Especially once they get the fiber optic networks set up.

On top of that the phone companies are working on IPTV. Basically you’ll be able to watch any show, ever made, anytime you want. Off topic I know but I love television as much as this new hobby so I thought I’d interject.

I whatched the show it was a good one. Nice layout the had in tennese. Tim

As soon as I read this, I flipped through my DirecTV guide. “Workin’ on the Railroad” is on channel 230, at 8:30 PM, east coast time.

…and repeated at 11:30 Eastern.
