Trains Presents: Norfolk Southern’s Fostoria District

excellent video…enjoyed beyond words

I like videos that give the train numbers and the to/from info.

You set up to shot the normal traffic when a Berkshire appears. How cool is that?

I only Model HO intermodal and I have tried to have my layout the same as N.S. Inman Yard Atlanta this is very nice to see from Trains I would like to see a lot more of Intermodal this is what makes the railroad so busy and making the world go around with different shipments and very nice to hear the No.of the Locos but I like to see a lot more videos of Intermodal please N.S. Is the best and if Trains can show more information and videos of Intermodal Railroad showing the Cranes loading especially the MI-Jack Inman Yard this would be very nice from Trains

Can’t view this NS video. First time ever for video trouble at this site.

Any info on that caboose at the end of the last train? A surprising sight!

The first article I ever read in Trains Magazine about 40 years or so ago was about a trip on the Fostoria District. Due to Old Fort, OH being my hometown, the article caught my eye.

This video was taken along the former Nickel Plate Road Main line with all kinds of Norfolk Southern trains rolling on the former Nickel Plate High Iron. It is good to see Nickel Plate 765 roll with a test train on her home rails where she and her sister Berkshires rolled through with all kinds of trains in their heyday, I was a nice video to watch and it was an enjoyable one as well.

It’s great to see something close to home as I live about 15 miles from the Fostoria District. I, too am curious about the Department of Defense Caboose at the end of the last train in the video. My only complaint is (and this was probably a problem on my end) the video came across a bit jerky. Other than that, my compliments to the videographer. He did a great job!

Loved it . Keep them coming!

Excellent video. Look forward to new additions every week.

Great stuff guys. Thanks for sharing with Trains Magazine readers! Too bad NS didn’t adobt yellow instead of white for the secondary color on locomotives. Yellow is easier to see at grade crossings and has always been considered a “Safety” color.

Quite a mix, steam power and a crummy to boot!

Regarding the last train in the video, any word regarding the caboose? This is the first train I have seen in years pulling a caboose.

Really enjoyed the video and heartily agree with all the previous comments. Look forward to the next video.

Curious the last train had a caboose and didn’t receive a comment.

Great video, am looking forward to more fine rr videos.

The video runs jerkily on my computer, with stops sometimes. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I love the content of these videos.
