It is true that most accidents are caused by cars, but that is because most vehicles are cars, but it is the size and weight of trucks that make it seriuos.

Now I ama conductor for BNSF and we haul a lot of truck freight cross country. Works out for all so now I would say trucking and railroading have come togther for a mutual relationship. Face it old drivers are leaveing and not coming back and new ones cant handle that lifestyle. SO who knows mybe trucking will go regional and toss traffic to the railroads for long haul,
I agree that there is no shortage morons out there. At least here in NY we can take the parkways and avoid trucks all together.
