Trains where you least expect them

Nope, not HURRICANE EXPRESS, it’s a copy obtained from my wife, several of her distant relatives were employed by Paramount and Republic during the golden age, behind and in front of the cameras. The film probally met it’s demise on the cutting room floor, it’s that bad, except for the SP action. Alas,no John Wayne, heck never heard of the cast before or since. She is clueless on how and when she obtained it.

Zeitgeist Movie has a New Haven electric passenger train at 41:55, and at 42:45 there’s an I.C.R.R. steamer.

Per Netflix about Hurricane Express:

John Wayne stars in this multiple-episode serial as Larry Baker, the determined son of a railroad engineer who was killed by a madman known only as “The Wrecker”. As Larry works to uncover The Wrecker’s true identity, he puts his own life in serious danger, dodging airplane attacks, sidestepping train crashes and outmaneuvering his enemies in lethal car chases.”

I just added the movie to my list to watch.

Tom said “ALCO–of course. Just goes to show you how much I know about diesels, LOL!”

Tom, I don’t have the encyclopedic-like knowledge of Chuck, but it is amazing the questions that can be answered by doing a Google (or was it Yahoo) search (ATSF railroad diesel locomotive roster).

Mark

Thanks for the tip, Mark. I would have never dreamed something like that would be available online.

Tom

I guess it’s true what they say that it’s good to have connections. I am hoping this is the biggest offense I will ever have on record. I actually kinda didn’t mind it, almost gave me something to brag about. Naaahh, I better stay out of trouble. Not that just being a train fanatic doesn’t mean you are a troublemaker these days[:-^]…

LOLOL, you break the law and your dad has a talk with the guy that is only doing his job? If I was him I would have told your dad were to go and then really come down hard on you next time I saw you.
