Actually, I enjoy all the features of the TrainsMag.com site but the webcam is my favorite. I work at a multi-monitor workstation and always have the TrainsMag website running on one of them, most of the time with the webcam up and running. It’s a pleasant diversion from the stress of the day as well as a great way to introduce people to this great hobby of trains.
Tough choice, but I picked News Wire as my favorite trainsmag.com feature. I do enjoy the WebCam also - what happened to the 'Cam on the river? If readers aren’t availing themselves of the Research features they’re really missing out: I truly enjoyed the entry by John Kelly/Robert Yahnke on railroad dining car menu features; you just gotta try the potato pancakes a la C & NW Dakota and the Golden Dollar French Toast a la MP Texas Eagle. My grandson calls 'em "railroad breaakfasts!

We really enjoy the forums and have learned so much from everyone . The news wires are great also because we read items there that we rarely see anywhere else in our news coverage.

I like the forums. You can find some instresting reading and like Joe some help from time to time. I do also like the rest of the stuff on here as well.

Stay warm looks like winter is here
I voted for other because I felt it wasn’t fair to pick one only feature as I enjoy looking at most topics. I enjoy reading the newswire and polls and their results. I find the web camera interesting to watch, like tcantwell I also am far from an railroad {over 200 miles to a main and about 120 to a branchline]. I also use different forums as a lot information can be gained from them
I also like the web cam & my grand son likes watching it on th computer as well. I wi***rains had more like that one. Maybe they would consider putting one in Deshler,Oh the cross roads of the B&O. Maybe the trains staff if they have not done so come to Deshler and check the site out. and sponsor one with the help of some else.

I like the web cam, but the forums are great, too…Its good to have a place where we can all share our common interest. Oh, the news wire is also up there.
Voted for the forums because I enjoy the interaction with others, but I also check the news wire daily. I would use the cams more often if I did not live 100’ from the UP KD sub, and work 100’ from the CP C&M sub.
That’s not fair! I want to vote for at least two! The news wire is essential – there is no other source for current railroading news which is usable – but the forums come close to essential too!
Yea, Mook, I know. It’s tough, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. [:D]
I have two 5’x4’ picture windows in my office that overlook the CP main line that runs between Milwaukee & Chicago, with the (famous?) Hoan bridge as well as Lake Michigan as a backdrop. About one freight train per hour, plus all the Amtrak Hiawatha’s pases by each day. So distracting. Sigh. Guess I’ll just have to live with it.[;)]
