And the sad thing is we only hear one side of the story.
I often wondered what the other side of the story is and we know there is always two sides and that’s why I pay little heed to these topics beyond reading.

The problem with starting a thread like this is that it takes a personal issue between buyer and seller into the public domain and unnecessarily so.
I have no argument with the OP who feels wronged and did not get what he paid for. But, from everything I read, the seller is doing its best, within its return policy, to get things right.
Nothing that I read here would cause me not to do business with Trainz. I see nothing to “watch out for”.
So, from that point of view the thread should never have been posted in the first place.

I tend to agree with Richhotrain…
If a vendor is a “fraud/cheat/crook”, then I really appreciate the fact hitting the forum. But otherwise, it just isn’t the right thing to do - in my opinion of course.
I have Tranz blocked on my ebay account. From my personal experience, they are not to be believed.
Years ago, I either ordered something from their website or bid on one of their Ebay items, after several days and some investigation (by me) it turns out they’d already sold it. I was unhappy that I had to do the leg work and that I missed out on what I thought was a good deal, but this happens (in)frequently enough from other sellers. I have ordered from them since and all was fine. But they had a collection of O scale brass that there are reports on another forum of hideously poor packaging leading to damage and a full refund!!! That was only one buyer, they probably had a dozen pieces for auction; I wonder if all the pieces from that collection fared as badly.
I never buy from dealers with high shipping or less then 99%. Why 99%? Because there are the few that can’t be pleased regardless.
I seen one dealer have a rare Bev-Bel/Athearn 50’ boxcar for BIN of $9.99 but,the killer was the shipping-$9.55…Way to much.I’ve had 4 cars shipped for that from a different seller…
No one twists your arm to buy from any one dealer. I also have a store list that I use.
