Hello. Is it possible to safely remove the metal compression ring from the inside of a postwar Lionel transformer handle? I have another handle from the same numbered transformer I would like to use it on.
You mean like on a 1033 handle?
Yes. These are a pair of LW handles. I would like to take the ring off of one (it doesn’t come easily ) and put it on a newer one that doesn’t have one.
Okay, I can’t say that I’ve worked with these. I’ll take a look at my 1033 (since, if I recall correctly, they’re similar) and see what can be done.
