Trinity Industries buys Seaboard Railcar Repair

TILX is one of the reporting marks for Trinity Railcar Leasing. You didn’t say if they were covered hoppers(likely grain), or coal cars. Trinity builds railcars and leases them out also. Trinity also does railcar mileage reporting on the majority of railcars in use(bookkeeping).

I saw an EB BNSF unit train passing thru Shelby, MT last month. It consisted of 100+ 4-bay (yes, 4) 100-ton+ hoppers with TILX reporting marks. Any idea of what service it is in? Couldn’t find those cars on the Trinity web site.

Sorry. Covered (white) hoppers, black TILX reporting marks.

Saw a few unit coal trains between Butte and Missoula, Montana. Was a great trip a few weeks ago.
