Hello everyone, I want to thank everyone that help me with my Trix Big Boy short problem, you all were great. Well here is how i found the problem. After many not so good days of trying to figure out what i did wrong, i decided to put the engine back in it’s case and not think about. Well i woke up and the first thing on my mind was to give the big boy another try. I put it on the track and didn’t get the pilot truck wheels set on the rail right. I turned on the power and the engine came to life. I gave it a little power to see if is going to move and i seen that the pilot truck wheels were not on, so i put the on the rail and the big boy shorted out. Took it to the shop and check it out and sure enough the wheels were on wrong. made it right and now the big boy is back in service. Thanks to all that helped. Railcon44
All good things come to he who waits…and observes. This is a nice ending to what must have been a most disappointing start to enjoying your fine engine, Railcon44. Enjoy!
Ah, the old classic “insulated wheels on the wrong side” problem. That’s a tough one to find, especially on modern models where they do a better job of hiding the insulation.
