Any suggestment,please?

agge [:D]

agge,

The one thing I can tell you for sure: It ain’t gonna be cheap.

Tom

I’ve read a review of this loco in a British magazine (Model Rail International), they seemed to rather like it but the price may be a bit of a shock - £400 in the UK!

An American publication just did a review on this locomotive as well (I can’t remember which one right off), and they really liked. It has a Loksound v3.5 sound decoder factory installed (one of my favorites right now) and looks to be quite detailed. I didn’t realize the price on it was so high though… [:O]

Remember BLI also made these. While they aren’t especially detailed, they run nice and have a QSI sound system. You can pick these up on ebay for less than $100.00 all day long.

HELLO!
I have now testing locomotiv and can only to say:WAAAOOW!!! [:O]
What an impressiv heavy metal locomotiv!COOL!
I see forward to buy passenger cars of PRR and putting together with GG-1!
The locomotiv has also core-less canmotor typ Maxon and loco is in all heavy metal. [:D]
I see also forward to get steamlocomotiv PRR from BLI.

I am glad you enjoy it. I have been tempted to get one myself and model a Pennsy passenger train (although I model Santa Fe passenger equipment). I have always held the GG1 in high regard, especially since you can dig one out of the basement of a major passenger terminal and have it back on the rails in fast order!!

I am happy for you, agge. Everyone needs some first-time excitement in this hobby. Look for the Outlet Direct pricing if dealing directly with BLI interests you.

Tom,
Nothing like being succinct. [8D] [:D]

Jon

At current market prices you could probably buy 3 or 4 BLI GG-1’s for the price(or is that overprice) of one Trix GG-1. JMHO

Jon

MR said in their review the sound includes “…some loud, present day train radio conversation is out of keeping with the period of the model.” These sounds still present or have they been edited out?

Jon

Tom,
Succinct and right on the money.

Jon

Great ! It sounds fantastic ! I’m glad you are happy with it [:D]

I had a Lionel GG-1 50 years ago. I loved it, and still miss it even though I now model HO. That was a beautiful engine. I’m glad to see they are being produced for the present-day HO crowd. Even more, I’m happy to see someone having as much fun with it now as I did a half-century ago.

Now, agge, you have to get a digital camera and post some pictures for us. This is one model I really want to see in a real layout situation. Thanks in advance…

My T-1 has radio chatter on F9 - ESU must throw that in there by default. Might be ok for the Chessie steam special and American Freedom Train running in the 70’s, but definitely not right for the early 1950’s. I just don’t press F9.

I shall do my best to get a digital camera, but also an PC and installed at home too!So far yet,i`m surfing with you at a 7 UP store.I know,i should been shame!

Agge

If you’re going out to a store to join in with this forum, then I salute you. That is real enthusiasm and dedication. And you’re better off buying trains than either a camera or a computer. If I spent as much time on my layout as I do in front of this stupid PC, I’d have all my scenery done. Instead, well, I’ve learned to like the color pink.

I got a Trix GG 1 too. It’s got great sound and looks awesome. Only thing is it seems prone to derailment. I haven’t quite figured whether that is my fault for bad tracklaying or not but it doesn’t seem to happen with anything else

Did either Markin or Fleischmann or any other euorpean co. Make a proto type of the GG-1?

I think Marklin have also done a GG1 - same as the Trix one but wired for their stud-contact 3-rail system and with different electronics. LGB have a G scale one which costs more than a 1:1 scale car…
