Sorry if this was posted earlier, but thought by chance if it wasn’t I’d post b/c saw article in Washington Post today about possibility of Arlington and Fairfax Countys getting trolley service in future.
Wasn’t able to find the online article but found another site with info:
http://www.heritagetrolley.org/planWashingtonRTOL4.htm
(also Trains magazine, is an article reg. trolleys in Little Rock called bananas; with they were there when I lived there for 4 years back in 80s)
David;
I didn’t see the article but heard about it on the news last night. Did I hear correctly that the price tag would be over $100M? How would this be funded given the current road funding shortfall in NVA and the cost of extending Metro to Dulles? I’m not against the idea but the list of projects appears longer than your taxpayer pockets are deep.

Popplyl,
In the DC area, taxpayer pockets ARE deep. Did I mention median price for a home in the area being .5K?
David;
I’m on the other side of the river from you so I have some sense of what you are saying about the tax burden and people’s ability to pay. One could probably pay for the trolley line with the rounding error on the Dulles Metro estimate.
