Greetings, I am attempting to consist 2 HO scale engines using NCE Power Cab. One is a Lifelike Proto 2000 GP30 with a Digitrax DH165LO Decoder. The other is a Kato GP35 with a Digitrax DH187P decoder. Individually they speed match great, but when I put them in a consist the lead engine will start to move at about SS30 and the other engine doesn’t move until around SS90. Anyone have an idea on what is going on? It has done this with the other engines I have with Digitrax decoders. I did successfully consist my 2 engines that do not have Digitrax installed. I am using Decoder Pro to program the engines. Thank You in advance for any assistance.
Hello All,
Welcome to the forums!
CV 57 = V 102 on each unit.
Hope this helps.
Thank You jjdamnit! Changing CV57 to 102 seems to have fixed my issue. Thank You again for your quick response.
What does CV57 specifically do?
Regards, Chris
Here is a link from Digitrax that explains it. KB926: CV55, CV56 & CV57 - Scaleable Speed Stabilization (Back EMF) It is beyond me on how it works but it worked in my case.
Got it. Thnx.
Regards, Chris
Hello All,
Honestly…
I don’t know.
I was experiencing the same issues with my NCE PowerPro system and Digitrax equipped locomotives.
Even after speed matching them with their individual four (4) digit addresses before “Advance Consisting” them.
I contacted both NCE and Digitrax.
NCE responded that I should set CV 57 = V102 on each unit.
So, I did…
Voilà!!!
The consisted locomotives ran “normally.”
When removing or “breaking” locomotives from consists, there is no effect on their individual running.
Hope this helps.
Read the explanation. It is beyond me what they said.
