I can see receny images but not the webcam live I have no trouble with others. any ideas? rambo1…
Its working for me at this time [:)]
Make sure you have the latest edition of Java. Make sure you’ve cleaned out your Temporary Internet Files and Java cache.
If you have Norton Firewall, your going to have to disable your firewall but as soon as you get the cam to work, you can enable the firewall again as you open up the webcam page. The easiest way to right click the icon in the lower right to disable/able the firewall. I always hate to turn off my firewall, but to watch trains as I play poker, one has to do what he needs to do so not to be bored between hands.

I’m not having any trouble with the webcam, but it seems different now, like a little wider angle of view. Am I right?
thanks 6604 it was the firewall rambo1…
No problem, glad I could help.

I wish my problem were that simple. I haven’t been able to get the live pics now for months, and I’ve tried everything- turning off both Norton and Windows firewalls, updating Java, consulting with Bergie/Yuhas. I can never get it to go beyond displaying the white window within the black box containing a statement in the upper left corner- “Initializing SiteCamLive…”. It just sits there like that. I can access other webcams just fine.[%-)]
Here’s what you might need to do…Open your Norton firewall…click on “Ad Blocking”…click “Configure”…click on “Advanced”…on the far left with the long list, find www.trainsmag.com or trains.com…click once on that and then below that, click “Remove site”…click “OK” on the bottom…that will return you to the “Ad Blocking” page…click “OK”. Basically what you just did was to remove the cookie from Nortons memory. Now when you go to trains.com, Norton will ask you to accept the cookies (how ever you accept or decline(i had to accept to do this page)). Then it might ask that you accept an active-X control (I accept and click "always use this control). accept and then it should start up after you disable the firewall…dont forget to enable the firewall after the picture appears. Also, when you refresh the page, your going to have to disable the firewall and enable it again each time.
Good luck and hope that helps

Hmmm… I’m lost right off the bat, as I can’t seem to find “Ad Blocking” anywhere when Norton is open. I’m running Norton Internet Security 2005, which might be different from what you have.
yeah, i got the 2003 Norton
