I have resently bought TRS 2006 and I installed it and started it. I looked in the Railyard part of it and the went to lauch a senerio and hit play and this came up.
Did you try running the game in open gl. I’ve got both 2004 and 2006 and have never had that message. If you have registered the game it would be best to ask the question in auran’s forum. You would have had an answer to your question a lot sooner. Many talented people there.
Also, have you downloaded the 638 MB service pack 1 yet. [:D] It fixed some problems. If you haven’t, go to the forum and get instructions on how to install it. Many people had trouble if they didn’t follow the directions on how to install.
Just a guess but it looks like it is looking for a directx dll. Go to microsoft.com and get the latest directx download. I think it is version 9c.
Many people do not update things like that so it MIGHT be the problem.
Other then that, the others have some good ideas as well.
Also eax is a sound type. Are your sound cards drivers up to date?
It is also calling a stack file. Do you have enough mempry? 512 MB is the minimum for something like this. One gig would be better but if your page file is big enough [a couple of gigs] then it should be fine, just slow.
That’s all I can think of myself beyond maybe sending that info to auran in the forums and asking there.
I have RailDriver on MSTS and Train Store with quite a lot of add-ons from various sources. It plays sound OK on some programmes and not others. I’ve tried re-insalling software for both RD and MSTS etc., but it makes no difference, my independent speakers are fine. 3D Trainstuff. UK Trainsim. Maple Leaf. I am a senior TOG.
My graphics card ran me about 80 bucks and I didnt feel like installing it so I had Geek Squad do it and that added 30 bucks. This was a Best Buy but all I need was my tower and the money and they had it in and running in 30min. and I was at home playing around in about 20min.

Your better off getting Trainz 2006 to work where you can do all that there and plus lots more as in build your own routes
WCL you are correct, this sounds more akin to a version of MSTS of which I have about 40gb. MSTS has problems with frame freezes and occasional system crahes. It is getting long in the tooth, I believe Microsoft are working on a new TrainSim.
Yeah there working on a new sim…Have you got the updates for MSTS??? Maybe thats what is causing all your headaches??? I also have MSTS and it gets boring after a while when you have EVERY single ADD-ON for it that you can think of…I got over 75 CD’s worth of stuff for MSTS so thats why I went over to TRS to build some routes and get that one going…MSTS route building is WAY to hard.
