The engine was moving quite slowly and could easily have stopped. His response is juvenile.
Correct (IMHO) on both counts. What kind of an operation is this? First thing I noticed was the cracked cab window.
This was a duplicated post. I see that deleting one’s own posts is no longer an option.
The train crew are speaking Russian, which covers a rather broad area of possible location.
I do’t speak Russian, BUT! A handheld camera in the cab?? It seems that this would not pass asmell test.
And the crewman cackling at what happened…Seems strange. [2c]
Russian? Maybe, it isn’t a Ford, but the track gauge seemed a bit narrower than 5 feet. And whatever took off the truck’s hood seemed to happen after the engine’s already snowplow had passed. Maybe it was all staged, otherwise why just happen to have a video on and running so slowly.
I got the sense that the train was climbing a grade; thus the slow speed.
All the more reason he could have stopped. He clearly didn’t want to and thought it was funny.
I don’t feel one bit sorry for the owner of the truck though - he should have known better and he clearly deserved what came to his truck!
Looks like by the end he was coming to a stop.
But to be honest, I thought it was funny. And I wish we could do that to idiots that park too close to the tracks.
We’ve had several incidents where people were parked far too close to the tracks. What’s even more “amusing” is when they complain bitterly about being asked to move their vehicle…
We’ve never hit one, though.
I think the reaction in the cab might be similar for a lot of us, though (“That’ll teach 'em!”), even though we’d exhibit a great deal of concern/consternation once we hit the ground… At least for an empty vehicle parked too close. Nobody wants to hit an occupied vehicle.
A unoccupied vehicle in such a location and at such a attitude is nothing more than debris. Vehicle was most likely stolen and left there by the theives. If it’s owner actually drove it there, then he got what he was asking for when he undertook the action of driving it there. No tears. No sympathy.
