Trucks and uncouplers

i have a sf operating horse car. bought at auction. the front wheels seem to be attached incorrectly. that is, the uncoupler is on upside down. so when you put the car on a track, the uncouple device hits the center rail and the wheels don’t touch the track. there seems to be two protruding metal t-looking clips on each side holding the wheels down.

is it possible to get the wheel off these clips without breaking the rivet holding the wheels to the car? is there a guide to how to do this some where or is it as simple as it might look to the NOVICE?

Interesting situation, I think I understand the picture.

Two options, gently spread the side frame ot the truck to release both axles, then flip to the correct orientation.

Second, use a pair of pliers to bend the 4 little tabs on the coupler plate, allowing it to be removed. Then reattach in the proper orientation.

I kind of think the first is the better one, just be careful prying.

Big Boy, don’t let it go to your head, but you are a GENIUS!

option one worked in about 2 minutes. can’t tell you how much i appreciate your guidance…

Acutally, the ebay seller should thank you as well, saved him a ton of grief.

thanks again
