True Line Trains MP36 Update

I SEEN IT!

One of the pleasant surprises from the Springfield Show was my first look at a pre-production sample of True Line Trains’ MP36! Last year they only had a sample of the MP40 so this was a pretty significant indicator IMHO.

I have been informed that there are still some tweaks and adjustments that need to be made so what you see in the photos below is not the final version of what is going to be released.

I took some comparison shots of both the MP40 (GO Transit) and MP36 (Undec) to show the differences between the two.

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m very excited about these. The fact that a pre-production sample was displayed all but assures those who have been waiting patiently for this model that it’s definitely coming!

If they turn out anything like their MP40 units your going to be very happy. I just replaced my 2 Athearn wannabees for them and I couldn’t be any happier.

True Line is doing a special run of STATIC MP36 models in METRA (number 401 “Ollie Tibbles”) to commemorate the prototype which was named to honor a seven year old boy who lost his battle with cancer some years ago. His wish was to become a train.

All the proceeds from the sale of this locomotive will be donated towards research for cancer.

I think the cost is $50 per model but this is for the static version. That means it will have no motor, sound. I’m not sure about whether or not it will have working lights or not (my guess is no).

The prospect is more real now than ever!

They look good eh!!!

Amazing!

I saw a review online that suggested that the pilot is mounted a little low on these. I hope that’s not too much of an issue on my layout.
