This is a good example of how effort and persistance pays off…about 4 years ago I started to try to get a Job-Shadow with the railroad in town. When I first started trying I never really got a real human, or if I did they just blew me off as someone “just wanting a cab ride”. But FINALLY, when I am a Senior in High School I was able to set one up. It was today and, can I just say I never wanted to work for the Railroad more! I can hardly wait till June 5th and I can finally apply for the RR, and work on a train crew. I don’t know if the guys that helped me get my job-shadow belong to TRAINS.COM and go into the forums but if you guys do…THANKS A LOT!!!

Hope its what you really want to do,
trust me, after a week into it, you will know if this is “it” for you or not.
There are a lot of things that go on at any railroad, big or small, that never make the magazine stories…so be prepared to work harder than you ever imagined!
But be prepared to have a blast too!
The first week I was marked up, my cheeks hurt from grinning so much!
And, on top of all that, they PAY me to do this!
