This seems to be my day for Bachmann problems. I have a new 4-6-0 from Bachmann that is factory equipped with the Soundtraxx Tsunami decoder. I posted earlier about this engine and solvedd that problem of runaway. Now, I noticed that the engine starts very slowlly and chuggs as it should, but only in reverse. When I go forward it will move a little abruptly and doesn’t make any chuff sound until the drivers have moved about 2-4 revolutions and then it runs fine. When I stop in forward it slows down until about 5 mph (my guess?) and then stops abruptly. In reverse I can start at a creep and the sound is right on. Also, a couple of times while running forward the enging stops momentarily and then starts again, with the brake squeal and then the chuff. I was planning to call Bachmann (I hate to give up this loco for 6-8 weeks to send it back) but thought I would see if any of you guys had an answer or suggestion. I am suspecting a faulty decoder though.
