Hi: I have an Athearn GP9 with a Tsunami sound decoder factory installed.
After triying to program CV5 the loco remain with sound but without movement, I try to reset all CV with CV8 to 8 and nothing changed. The loco has sound in address 3 but do not move.
In analogic the logo runs well
Do you have suggestion in order to fix the problem?
Visit Soundtraxx’s website,on the bottom right corner in the “Quick links” box, click “Factory installed decoders”.You’ll find the default values for your loco’s CV’s.
Topito, After you did the reset did you remove the power to the locomotive? Tsunamis, when doing a reset, the power must be removed. Unplug your DCC system or remove the loco from the rails.
Sorry, but you didn’t prove that setting CV 5 doesn’t work. What you apparently did prove was that the Tsunami that is supplied with the Athearn GP-9 does not have a CV5, nor a CV6. The following is the link to the Athearn GP9 Tsunami list of CVs from the Soundtraxx website: http://www.soundtraxx.com/factory/OEM%20pages/athearn/athearngen_gp9_ho.pdf
You will have to create a speed table to adjust CVs 67 through 94.
(PS: Although the Tsunami may have acted as though it had accepted a change to CVs 5 of 6, it really did not. This is per a conversation with a Soundtraxx rep when I had a similar issue with a Bachmann engine.)
Once you put in a straight line speed curve, you can lower CV 66 and 95, forward and reverse trim, until the engine speed has dropped to where you want it. These CVs lower all the steps of the speed curve, rather than having to adjust CVs 67-94 one at a time each time you want to change things.
