What ever happened to TT Gauge?
TT lives, in Europe, and from time to time European TT (1:120 ratio) is imported. I recall that European track standards differ from American TT – which might live on in a basement manufacturer or two but seems to have atrophied after a brief rebirth in the 1970s. At one time there were several steam locomotives and an Alco FA available. The last American TT manufacturer I can think of was Kemtron, which also had HO and O material in their line.

There was an attempt in the late 1980s-early 1990s to revive US TT scale, using factories in Eastern Europe. It didn’t go very far, and I heard the US company orchestrating this revival went bankrupt.
TT is doing better than you might think. There is a cottage industry making TT products in the States, as well as English and European manufacturers of TT scale products. The internet has allowed people interested to communicate with each other, too. You could check out http://www.ttscale.com/Frame-top.html, as well as the Yahoo! Group, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TTSMR/.
There a few TT’ers on this site–Al reibel and Confederate Bob come to mind.
