With that dare devil jump, that’s one way Amtrak could save alot of money on bridge construction! [(-D]

I’m sure the folks in the dining car appreciated it, too…

Tom

Oh man, do I remember that commercial! Thanks for the memories.

Gads, that’s funny…

Well they would know that their drinks were shaken and not stired.

That’s a blast from the past! I forgot all about that train.

The

Well that’s…odd.[8D]

I’ve always wanted one of those sets. I’m still keeping an eye out on ebay for just the right one.

I remember wanting one of those when I was a kid. I hadn’t thought about that in years.

I remember the ads, but I think I was more into girls an cars by then.

I think I’ve got one of those I pickup at yard sale for next to nothing. I believe it still ran but some of the track was missing. It was in the original box, kinda beat up though. Guess I ought to find it and do something with it.

Tony,

You can keep your eye out for one on Ebay but I doubt you’ll be able to outbid one of those devoted “TYCO Collectors”.

I actually have one of those sets in a closet in my dad’s house! Complete with the rubber boots that held the track sections together, and the two 90-degree vertical curve track sections. My set only had enough track to basically make an oval with one side of it running up the wall. I think the cardboard tunnel and glow-in-the dark strips are long gone, though!

with that controller it looks like the tyco car set

makes for some cool tv thou

thanks for posting

ps I like the Turbo Train

It basically was a Tyco slot car set that ran on rails. This came out when slot cars were going to be the death knell of model trains so Tyco tried to combine the two. I think they also had a combined train and slot car set where the train crossed the slot car track and let you stage fabulous wrecks. And Tyco executives probably still wonder why real model railroaders don’t think they make real model trains. [:)]

For all those that wanted one, here it is:

Or the empty Lionel box collectors. Man I wish I had deep pockets. [:(]
