turnout indicator

I want a turnout operated switch to control trackside lighting. Any ideas? THANKS

By “trackside lighting” do you mean an indicator to show which way the turnout is set?

Here’s some information that was provided to another person who asked for turnout indicators:

Just as a matter of personal curiosity, are you the “JohnS” whose wife posted the above-referenced message?

What operates your switch points?

  • For Tortoise users, wiring paired LEDs into the stall motor circuit will indicate how the points are positioned. Or you can use the built-in DPDT contacts.
  • Some twin coil machines, Rix or japanese made, have built-in contacts - up to 3PDT on my KTM machines.
  • Some manual throws have contacts. My manual throws are electrical switches.

As you can tell, one size doesn’t fit all.
