I have peco switches on some of the layout…
but first here we go… testing the track and engine stops on switch, (shuts down),
check for gaps?
switch is thrown…

what scale ho or n? electrofrog or insulfrog? with peco switches the point picks up power when it touches the stock rails. the inside of the point and stock rail must be clean enough to allow rails to conduct power to each other when they touch. with insulfrog switches you can put feeders on both sides of the switch and it will eliminate the problem but with electrofrog you may have to use the auxilliary contacts to power the frog.
I was told at my LHS to remove the clip that holds the switch, to make it move easier back and forth for use with Tortuise
the spring holds the point tight against the stock rail to help with power transfer between the rails. you should not remove it until you install the tortoise switch machine and power it. otherwise there’s not enough force to make good contact.
