Has anyone had their Walthers 130’ turntable drop down about a sixteenth inch from the layout tracks level? I took the turntable off to clean the gear that runs the turntable and when I put it back on, it is about a sixteenth inch below the layout tracks. How do I get it back up?
I don’t see how this could have happened unless it had not been properly seated at the outset. You have replaced it in an attitude that does not match the previous attitude. If you can’t find a way to get it to sit securely as it had been, start shimming under the lip with cardstock strips glued to the nether surface.
The idea is that at some point it should be both aligned and highly resistant to settling or rocking when you push down on five or six points around the rim.
Don’t forget to cover the middle well with some tape before you invert it, and make sure the bridge is aligned with one end and the end of the lead to the turntable for ease of getting it all put back together properly.

Ok, thanks. I’ll try those things.
Balsa wood, easy to cut and glue and if its too thick easy to sand or to add to it to make it level again. I would seal it after getting the right height.Jim.
